At Little Acorns Day Nursery, we want you and your child to think of us as a home away from home. We accommodate from newborns to 5 years of age, providing Ofsted-certified services in two locations, Hedge End and Eastleigh. Both our sites are well-equipped and staffed to provide an enriching environment that enables your little one to flourish and grow.
Babies
For up to 18 months old, we provide a trained member of staff to each child, specialised in providing individual care. Your needs are very important to us, and we will strictly adhere to any routines you have outlined for your child at home. Whether they eat at midday or nap then, we will listen to and stick to what you need to keep your newborn on their schedule. We have a number of soft play areas made with their needs in mind. Featuring windows and mirrors designed for a baby’s height, with miniature toys and lots of sensory play to keep your newborn engaged, stimulating and in an enriching environment.
Toddlers
From 18 months to around 2 years 9 months, we begin to offer toilet training and free flow inside and out play areas. Your child will be able to make their own decisions with the perfect balance between free-form and structured play, encouraging them to be independent and develop their social skills in equal measure. They will still have a key person close by, to track their development and offer support when needed.
Pre-School
From the end of the toddler stage to 5 years old, we focus on independence and learning key skills; such as doing up buttons, manners, tying shoelaces and developing social skills. They will begin to learn structure but still have plenty of time to play and take part in fun experiences such as themed days! We hope to send your child into the next stage of their life with the tools they need to flourish.
Saturday Morning & Holiday Club
On the first Saturday of every month, we open our doors and offer a special opportunity to spend time with their children in our nursery. This provides a chance to secure early bonding that develops the social part of their brain, allowing them to form early bonds that will let them grow up as emotionally capable adults.
Even in the school holidays, we offer a School Holiday Club that provides a fun and educational time for your little one. We know parent’s busy schedules often don’t allow for school holiday downtime, so instead, you can be safe in the knowledge that your child is enjoying themselves in a range of activities, such as bowling, the cinema and picnics. An escape from our usual curriculum that offers a focus on independent and less-structured play, where kids are encouraged to choose their own activities and remain entertained and stimulated throughout the holidays.
At Little Acorns Day Nursery, we strive to offer your child the same care and attention they receive at home. Get in touch today to find out more about our two locations, and what we can provide for your little one.
